Community Futures, the Rotary Club and the Alberta Government have gotten together to offer an Entrepreneur Boot Camp in High River.

A grad of the spring boot camp, Cassandra Kirkpatrick, says it got her to the point where she's now launching her own business, called Jungle Out There.

"What I'm starting is a in-home pet services business in High River and area, and we offer dog walking, in-home sitting, mid-day visits, some pet photography, some basic grooming, so I'm very excited to get it rolling," Kirkpatrick says.

She says she gained a lot from taking the boot camp, from putting together a business plan to marketing and financial management.

"IT was also really nice just connecting with other business owners like myself that just had an idea, but also that were quite established and they were able to share their successes and their challenges, so ya, it was really great," she says

The course goes every Monday night at the LORAC Business Centre on 3rd Avenue in High River from Sept. 21 to the end of November.
