It's official.

As of noon Friday, Monday's by-election results in High River became official with Michael Nychyk declared the winner.

He garnered 818 votes compared to 311 for his nearest challenger Jamie Kinghorn.

Sandra Wiebe had 176 and Terry Coleman 152.

In total 1,457 votes were cast.

Nychyk will be sworn in for a one year term Monday afternoon at council's annual organizational meeting in the council chambers.

There will be a full municipal election held October 16, 2017 as all current Councillors will reach the end of their four year term.
