Miracle Treat Day returns to Dairy Queen in High River Thursday August 11.

Owner Lana Bakken says the money raised locally goes to the Southern Alberta Children's Hospital in Calgary.

"I think more people are becoming aware of what it (Miracle Treat Day) is supporting," she says. "Personally we know more and more people that are also using the Children's Hospital, once it becomes close to you and you use it, you tend to support it."

Bakken says last year they sold 1,660 Blizzards and their contribution to the hospital was $6,183.

She says they'll be open from 9:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. and if it's busy they'll stay open a little while longer.
