One of High River's oldest business was forced to move this week.

After over 40 years in High River's downtown, the Pioneer Barber Shop pulled up stakes from their Third Avenue location and moved a couple of blocks up to Centre Street between Second and Third Avenues.

Owner Deanna Green says it was not an easy choice.

"You know the support we got, well not only before the flood, but especially since the flood. I could never leave these people. I could never leave this town. I could never leave my customers. Never! And I cry every time I think about leaving downtown, because it's always held a pretty sweet spot in my heart."

She says between the constant construction and the controversial changes in parking, she felt she couldn't keep the business alive in the old location and had to move to survive.
