The High River Fire Department had a great showing at the Fire Fit Games over the weekend at Spruce Meadows in Calgary.

The mixed team finished third behind teams from CFB Winnipeg and Brandon, Manitoba.

Ryan Wiebe also took part in the individual challenge finishing 69th overall and sixth in the over 40 category.

He says next year he wants his Brother Shawn, a Nanton Fire Fighter, to compete too.

"He challenged me to the do the Bow Building as well, the stair climb and he's going to try and jump onboard with the Fire Fit as well. I think Nanton is thinking of putting in a team. If he thinks about doing the individual challenge as well, what the Fire Fit corporation does is they will team us together for that brother competetiveness so I think that would be fantastic if that happens."

The Foothills Fire Department's Earle Hunter was the top local finisher in 56th spot.

He was followed by Wiebe, Ryan Kaiser from the Okotoks Department in 86th and Andrew Draper from Turner Valley in 89th.
