The Town of Turner Valley saw a dip in their housing market in 2015.

Only 23 new single family homes were built in the Town in 2015, compared to 61 in 2014.

However at their last meeting, Councillors discussed trying to get developers to build more multi-family homes.

Mayor Kelly Tuck says that's easier said than done.

"It really is because you have to have the builder or individuals, that are wanting to come into the community to build side by sides, or to build four-plexes or to build a multi-family site. What does that look like? In today's economy, lets go back to it, things are tough, people are holding onto their money. We'll wait and see what 2016 brings."

Tuck says even with the drop-off, having new homes being built and people still looking to move to town is a good thing.
