The High River and District Health Care Foundation has another big celebration planned for this year's gala.

Fund Development Officer Cathy Couey says the annual Dinner and Auction this year will mark it's 30th anniversary.

"It's pretty exciting to see something that was started to promote the Foundation, which was pretty new at that time, to try and get it out there to the community and eventually they hoped that it would raise money and it certainly has done that over the years, and it's kind of neat to see where it's gone," Couey says. "They've helped us raise a lot of money and I think last year we were only $80,000, so that's a significant amount of money, in our area, in one night."

Couey says when she looks back she sees some of the staff who have been to every event over those 30 years along with sponsors, Western Feedlot, Snodgrass Funeral Home and the Royal Bank who have also been there from the start.

This year's theme is a Celebration of 30 years, a bit of a departure from last year's 50's style event or past events that featured MASH or a luau.

She says tickets bought before September 19 are again eligible for a limousine ride to the Dinner and Auction which will be held at the Highwood Memorial Centre October 22.
