After Federal PC Member of Parliament Jason Kenney announced his intentions to vie for the open leadership positions with the provincial PC's and 'Unite The Right', those that Kenney would have to convince are having their say on the future.

Wildrose & Highwood MLA Wayne Anderson says Kenney does bring a lot to the table but says there's a couple of raised eye brows with his intentions made.

"The PC Party itself has said that they refuse to work with us so they've already made that stance so I'm kind of curious that they'd do that," he says. "But we welcome with open arms anybody from the PC Party who wants to work with the Wildrose. Our mandate is to move forward with a consistent message to help Albertans get out of this current ideological social experiment that ran with the NDP."

Anderson says there's plenty of what if's with Kenney's plan.

"I don't remember the Wildrose giving him that mandate and I don't think the PC Party has given him that mandate. So I'm curious as to who's presented him with this mandate and I'm also wondering who's funding his efforts as well. Interestingly enough he's not stepping down from his job as a federal minister so he's being paid for by the tax payers through Ottawa to run a provincial campaign in Ottawa."

Anderson applauders Kenney's desire but once again questions the entire 'Uniting The Right' because all he's done is announced his attentions to run for the PC's at his announcement in Calgary on Wednesday.

"I didn't see any members of the PC caucus there , so does he have the support of the PC caucus? Because if he doesn't, my understanding is some of them are split and secondly as a delegate convention it's not a one person one vote convention I understand. He's got a lot of work to do s he's got eight months to build his story and then once he gets the leadership of the party then we'll see."

Kenney made the announcement that he will remain in Ottawa as the MP for Calgary Midnapore until October 1 and Anderson says if Kenney wanted to gain momentum right after his announcement he should step down sooner.
