The UCP nominations for the Highwood Constituency are officially open and in full swing.

R.J. Sigurdson, former Highwood Progressive Party Association President and Nominee, says there are some things the public should be aware of.

"I want to make everybody aware that they do have to hold their membership for 21 days prior to the votes," he said.

Sigurdson adds that voting is one way for residents to make an impact and have their voices heard.

"It gives you a voice that is an impactful voice because the area of Highwood hasn't voted anything but Conservative for many years. So, in reality, whoever wins this nomination, most likely will become your next MLA for Highwood," he said.

Those interested in obtaining a membership in the United Conservative Party, can visit the UCP website, or reach out to one of the nominees.
