It's the end of the year for the High River Skating Club and they're going out with a really big show.

President Lisa Siggelkow says it's a chance for all of the skaters to show off what they've been practicing all year.

"This Saturday it's our end-of-the-year ice show or carnival as we call it. It's the big opportunity for our skaters to give a performance to a local crowd and show of the skills they've been working on this season. Our club has skaters that range in age from four to twenty."

She says admission is $5 per person or $10 for a family and they will be accepting donations to the High River food bank at the door.

The show goes from 2 - 4 pm at the Rec Plex and doors will open at 1:30pm.

Siggelkow says people who attend won't be disappointed.

"It's a fun show, we're doing Fairy tales and Folklore this year for our theme. There will be all kinds of music from different fairy tales and the kids are all dressed up in the cute costumes and ready to put on a show. We'll have music from Cinderella, The Little Mermaid, Harry Potter and even some music from The Hobbit."

She says the club has been around since the early 70's and they've been able to keep registration fees low so everyone can learn how to skate.
