Three downtown businesses were the latest victims of a rash of break and enters in town.

Evelyn's Memory Lane Cafe, Pixie Hollow and Bearberry Lane were all hit sometime between Sunday night and Monday morning.

High River RCMP Sergeant Brent Hawker says, they're on the heels of a suspect.

"We're investigating three break and enters that occurred on Third Avenue in the downtown core. We have an image of a suspect that we think may be responsible for them."

He says he is hoping the footage will be enough to identify the suspect.

Hawker is reminding residents and business owners to report anything that looks suspicious.

"We've seen a spike in break and enters as of late given the current economic condition that's going around, we encourage our business community and all citizens within the community to be vigilant and watch for things that are out of place."

He says we should get into the practice of locking things up.

"We've encouraged over the last several months not to just lock your doors, that should be a given, but your vehicles as well. Take the steps necessary in today's climate to ensure you're protecting your valuables."
