The High River Library wants to hear from readers on Friday January 27.

As part of Family Literacy Day, Library Director Mary Zazalenchuk says they want people to read for 15 minutes, at any time during the day, and let them know.

"The most important part for us is reporting the number of readers back to the library and we're in competition with a lot of other libraries across the province and quite frankly I want bragging rights," she says. "There is a large glass trophy that we could potentially win, but mostly it's a comparison to be the most 'readerly' town in Alberta.

Zazelenchuk says it can be reading e-mails at work, on social media such as facebook, reading the paper or if you're an online news junkie reading the latest online news for 15 minutes or even the old fashioned way of doing it, curled up with a good book.

She says if readers can't come down to the library and visit they can let them know about their efforts over the phone, social media at #readfor15, facebook or on the library's website.
