High River has decided to revert to having a Town Manager as opposed to a CAO.

Tom Maier asked for the change at Monday's council meeting and council obliged.

Maier says the change means a move away from a more corporate title.

"Hopefully it's somebody that's there for everybody to help and resolve issues and make the community a great place to live, so that was the primary sense just to give it a different feel and change the culture of being a more inclusive and less bureaucratic organization," he says.

Maier says there's no cost to changing it, and Town Manager sounds less intimidating than CAO.
