The burning ban issued BY the Town of High River last Thursday has been lifted.

It's, of course, because today's rain and wet snow has provided enough moisture.

The Fire Department is still asking residents and visitors to continue to use extra caution with their outdoor fire pits, campfires and the disposal of cigarette butts. The situation will be closely monitored in the coming weeks and the fire ban may be reinstated should dry conditions return.

The MD of Foothills and Provincial burning bans are still in effect; this includes a temporary province-wide restriction on off-highway vehicle recreational use on public lands and provincial parks.
