Fresh produce, homemade baking and unique merchandise are all things people look forward to finding at the High River Farmers Market which starts up June 15 on 4th Avenue and 1st Steet SW.

It is a sure sign that summer is here.

Organizer Orvella Small says it's going to be an exciting year.

"We have the whole street this year," said Small. "We are able to accommodate around 76 vendors. That's growth in itself."

She added there is a great selection of vendors this year, with many returning this year and new ones joining in.

This is the third year SNAPS has been running the event and hosting it downtown outdoors, but the market itself has been in the town for 33 years.

"The community certainly supports it and we have visitors coming from out of town as well for the market, which is really encouraging."

The hours are a bit different this year as it starts at 3:30 p.m. and ends at 6:30 p.m. The first day is June 15 and the last September 28.

There is also a new website and you can find updates on their Facebook page as well.
