The United Way continues to build on a successful fundraising campaign for 2017 in High River.

Jody Seeley with Our High River says they are very grateful for all the support from the community during Hero's Week which brought in almost $5,000.

"We are super grateful for all the support from the community and the business community during Hero's Week we had a lot of fun,"said Seeley. "Especially since the dates of it changed this year. People normally expect it in October and we did it later in November."

She added they were able to raise several thousand dollars.

Predator Oilfield and Friends did a business challenge bringing in $1,201 and SNAPS did some office challenges which brought in $200.

Western Financial, Crawford Insurance and Summit Rehabilitation joined forces raising over $3,000 for Hero's Week.

McHappy Day brought in about $1.200.

Some previous fundraising during the year has the total at just about $7,500.

And there is one more fundraiser to go with the Ollie Peterson Memorial Hockey Tournament on Boxing Day.

And in January nonprofit's like SNAPS, the Boys and Girls Club, 101 Centre, Big Brothers And Big Sisters along with others can apply for funding from the United Way.
