Plans are still in the works for a new playground at High River's old Water Tower Park.

Jenny Jones with the Kinettes says they're taking their message to this week's Community Cafe to see what the community wants to see in the park.

"We want the community to come with some of their ideas, things that they're interested in, things they'd like to see in the park, sort of the age range they'd like to see the park used for, do we make it accessible, do we want family picnic areas, you know, all sorts of what the community might have interest in," she says.

Jones says people may want to put in some trees or park benches but they're pretty much open to anything.

She says because it's a town owned park, they have to have a definite idea of what they want but when it comes time to do it the plans will have to go to the Town and then go out to three vendors before coming back to the Kinettes.

"We do have some ideas of what we would like in there but now we just want to see what the community has interest in," she says."We've talked about making it an accessible park, and so having some of that ability and all of those things add to the cost. We've talked about putting some equipment in for older kids as well as younger children and sometimes when you actually get into the logistics of that, you know, cost wise and what needs to be done $200,000 doesn't really go very far."

She says they've heard from neighbours around the park as well as people who built the original playground.

The Community Cafe goes from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday November 8, at Carlson's on Macleod
