2015 was a great year for the Bar-U Ranch.

Product Development Officer, Mike Mclean says last year was the twentieth anniversary of the national historic site.

"The Bar-U Ranch continues to tell the story of ranching in Canada to audiences right acros the country and around the world. We were proud to celebrate our twentieth anniversary in 2015 and blessed with beautiful weather to get that done as well."

Mclean says they're a tourist destination for a variety of reasons.

"We've had foothills area residents coming out for a special event day, a meal, or a day out with guests that are visiting them. We get people from across Canada and from all around the world. I personally (have) met guests, people from places like Malta, France, Germany, Taiwan and Great Britain."

Mclean says the Bar-U is unique because they are the only national historic site that tells the story of ranching in Canada.

He says they were proud to celebrate their twentieth anniversary last year.

"We really enjoyed celebrating twenty years of providing Canada's story of ranching to visitors in 2015 and we are excited to launch the 2016 season."

Mclean says Parks Canada allows people to experience the outdoors and learn about the enviroment, all to create a community of stewards who know and care about the irreplaceable treasures in the country.
