The 9th Annual Longstock Music and Arts Festival is set to go August 20-21 at Smith-Fuller Centennial Park in Longview.

Among the Alberta acts that will be there is a Grammy R&B Legend and organizer Anne Cadrin says it's getting bigger and better every year.

"It's an excellent opportunity to hear some live music from local Alberta Artists and up-and-comers and local amateurs. This year our big news is we have a Grammy award winning Headliner, Donald Ray Johnson, Blues R&B Artist."

She says there will be different bands every hour Saturday August 20 from 12pm to 9:30pm and Sunday August 21 from noon until 7pm.

She says there's a market with over 40 Vendors showcasing paintings, sculptures, jewelry, handmade accessories and of course there's the food and beer gardens.

She says aside from the host of Alberta talent there's something for everyone and it's all on the cheap.

"There's a market and beer garden so you can get food. It's family and pet friendly, you can bring your dogs on leash, we've got bags at the front gate. Admission is by donation, we're starting to get some bigger acts so we're hoping people might donate a little bit more but it's by donation, what ever you feel you can afford.

She says you should bring your own chair or blanket to make the night a little more enjoyable.

"We would appreciate help with the set up and tear down. So Friday at 11am is the set up of the park, we've got a bunch of big tents that need to be set up. Tear down is Monday at 11am and people can call Eva Levesque at 403-558-3967 if interested."
