Reading books of all kinds, winning prizes and perhaps sharing the experience with a group of friends and or family members sounds like a great summer project.

The High River Library is inviting readers to  "Get Your Summer Read On" by reading 150  books by Canadian writers for Canada's birthday.

Before you think that it is impossible to do you can have a team of 10 members to divide up the task.

Summer student Natasha Cheney says there a lot of writers that people don't realize are Canadians.

"It is a challenge we are putting on to promote reading as well as the amount of Canadian writers that we have," said Cheney.

The books range from picture books, cookbooks, teen reading, nonfiction and fiction.

A couple of the rules include the maxium number of team members is 10, and you cannot be on more than one team.

The program kicks off Saturday, June 17th at the library at 1 p.m.

They will have a photo booth, crafts and snacks.
