Monkey bars and swings have been off limits because of the COVID-19 pandemic but that's slowly changing.

Assistant Superintendent Drew Chipman with the Foothills School Division says they've been in touch with local communities about re-opening play structures.

"High River, Okotoks, Black Diamond, Turner Valley and then all of our rural schools within the county so, it might not be the same throughout the school division but we'll certainly do our best to make sure that it's consistent within that particular municipality," he says.

Chipman says it just doesn't make sense that a town have its playground open while the school division in the same town still has theirs closed.

The Town of Okotoks says it'll re-open playgrounds Wednesday. May 27.
