Foothills Students are determined to right a wrong, after a disrespectful act see's someone's hard work thrown into the Sheep River.

Earlier this week an unknown individual or individuals took a Little Free Library building from the garden of the Okotoks Public Library, and tossed it into the Sheep River near the walking bridge.

Sarah Clark, Divisional Programming Principal for the Foothills School Division says when her students heard what had happened, they were quite upset.

"Our students have recently been using the library more than they ever have, and they were pretty upset when they saw that someone had just thrown it into the river and they want to do something about that."

Clarke glows as she says with pride, her students have decided to stand up against disrespect, give back to their community, and fix someone else's mistake.

"Here we are! We're refurbishing the little free library box, and I am so proud of my students who have taken that task upon themselves."

Not only will the students be refurbishing the library box, but they will also be re-stocking it with some of their favourite novels.

Residents can expect to see the newly renovated little library back in the Public Library Garden within the next week or two!
