A good turnout for the Foothills Fetal Alcohol Society golf tournament Monday, June 4, as over a hundred locals turned out to support them.

Executive Director Danna Ormstrup says this tournament's been going for a long time now.

"We started with George Groeneveld when he became MLA, wanting to make his golf tournament a charity, and so he chose us as his charity. So for the last six or seven tournaments, we've been doing it by ourselves, so it's awesome!"

Ormstrup says they couldn't get it done without the locals who buy in and play or their great sponsors.

"All of our sponsors are local. All of them recognize what we do, so it's not just a blanket donation, they're very involved in what we do. The top sponsor this year was Big Horn Drilling with Morris Welsh."

Welsh donated $5,000 to the cause as the title sponsor.

They're still counting the money raised, but Ormstrup figures this was their best tournament yet for donations.
