If you're driving along Centre Street near Wallaceville in High River, you might notice that some beautiful flowers have magically appeared along the road.

That's because a group of young kids, who wish to remain anonymous, have set out on a mission to make an ugly part of town look pretty.

A 12-year-old member of this group says they just want to lift people's spirits.

"Me and the other kids wanted to make High River feel happy and smile and not frown," she says. "We thought the flowers we chose were really pretty and we thought they would make people driving from places like Calgary or Edmonton smile when they come into town."

She says the group hopes the idea will inspire others to do the same.

"People can bring flower pots and more flowers to the road and just put them there," she says. "And we will promise to water them and make them grow big and look really pretty."

She says if they can make people smile, then they've accomplished their goal.
