High River may have lost out on the big prize in the Kraft Hockeyville Sweepstakes this past Spring, but the Calgary Flames are showing the Town of High River some love.

The Flames Foundation will donate $60,000 to the Town to help upgrade the lighting in the big arena at the Bob Snodgrass Recreation Complex.

The Town will apply for matching government grants looking to bring the total to $120,000.

The Flames first talked about donating some cash back in July when Hockeyville organizers were handed their cheque for $25,000 from Kraft as a runner up in the Hockeyville Sweepstakes.

That money was doubled, with a matching grant from Alta-Link.
