The fire ban in Okotoks has been downgraded to a fire advisory.

Monday afternoon the Town of Okotoks announced the change meaning residential fire pits and campfires in campgrounds, compliant with Fire Services Bylaw 10-17, are allowed again.

Residents living in the newly annexed areas of Okotoks are being advised that a fire permit is required for any other type of burning, including burn barrels.

The Town is reminding residents fire permits may be restricted during a fire advisory.

Caution should always be used with outdoor open flames, including barbecues, fire pits, and the disposal of smoking materials.

More information on the fire advisory can be found by clicking here.
