The Town of Okotoks has issued a Fire Advisory effective immediately.

A release from fire services earlier Wednesday stated.

"As a result of the continued dry conditions in Okotoks, with no significant amounts of rainfall forecasted, a decision has been made by Okotoks Fire Services to issue a Fire
Advisory, in effect until further notice.

Fire Advisory will be in Effect

The fire hazard rating has increased; areas of exposed, cured grass continue to pose a significant wildfire risk. As a result, a Fire Advisory has been implemented for Okotoks."

- Existing Fire Permits remain valid

- No new fire permits will be issued

- Safe campfires are allowed
