The Santa Claus Parade will pack downtown High River Friday, December 1, and the Foothills Fetal Alcohol Society wants to use the occasion to help out the homeless in the Foothills.

Travis Sandor with the Society says they're looking for gloves, toques, winter clothing and food.

"We're going to have our recycling bins around the parade route and we're asking all the spectators, or people coming to the parade to bring non-perishable food items and toque's and mitt's to fill the recycling bins."

Sandor says it's the second year of the program, and they're hoping they can do as well as they did last year.
