The Vulcan Legion will put a cheque for $10,100 from the Federal Government to good use.

The funds are part of the Building Canada, or Canada-150 grant program to repair or build infrastructure.

Legion members plan to use some of it to put in a new set of automatic doors, to make the building more accessible to those with physical limitations.

Legion President Harry Drummond says they also intend to pay tribute to veterans with a new and badly needed, mural.

"The old mural mostly depicts the First and Second World Wars. And this one we're going to try to incorporate the World War's, plus Korea, Peacekeepers and Afghanistan and stuff like that."

Drummond says they had hoped to have the mural done in time for Remembrance Day this year, but until they're sure the money is there for them, they'll shoot to get it done for November 11, 2016 instead.
