Alberta's Finance Minister Joe Ceci is not happy that the federal government didn't take action to help the energy industry in the Fall Fiscal Update announced on November 21st.

Ceci says we are facing a critical time for Canada's energy sector and Finance Minister Bill Morneau's speech was lacking in any kind of help.

"And until our market access issues are addressed the Canadian economy will continue to forfeit billions to the American economy," said Ceci. "It is clear the federal government is not speaking the same economic language as Albertans. Ottawa is living on a different economic planet."

He said the update is disappointing to all Albertans.

"Their fiscal update here doesn't take into account what is going on in our energy industry, so I think they need to reevaluated."

He adds the federal government hasn't demonstrated a real understanding of the issues the differential has caused to the Canadian economy.

Ceci says we must get our product to tidewater and this update does nothing to help with that.
