A new date has officially been chosen for the up coming federal candidates forum in Okotoks.

The forum will also been held at a different venue this year.

Cheryl Actemichuk, CEO of the Okotoks Chamber of Commerce, says the change took place to make sure everyone was represented.

"It was scheduled for October 5 but due to a conflict with some of the candidates we wanted to make sure that everybody could be there so we changed it to October 6 and it's going to be at the Okotoks United Church this year instead of the Centennial Centre."

Actemichuk says everyone will try to be accommodated at the venue.

"We have the sanctuary at the church available to us, it seats 200, and we can always pull out chairs for another hundred if more people show up but it is a really good opportunity for people to be able to listen to what the candidates have to say and hear what their platform is."

The doors will open at 6:30pm with candidates hitting the spotlight at 7.
