With civic elections coming up in October many Mayors and Town and MD Councillors around the Foothills are debating whether or not to run for office again.

One Mayor, Nanton's Rick Everett has already made his decision.

"I've done a lot of thinking and had a lot of discussion with my wife, as if affects the family. And after everything and feedback from the community, I've decided I will put my name forward for re-election."

Everett says he and his council have accomplished a lot in the last four years, but there's more he'd like to get done.

After talking with his family and voters Everett says he feels the support is there.

"I've had quite a bit of feedback from citizens that have asked me to run again, and it's not s "shoo in." It's work! And I think this council's done it and I look forward to another four year of putting the energy behind it."

We go to the polls Monday, October 16.
