Evelyn's Memory Lane Diner in downtown High River isn't in a big hurry to open their doors for dine-in service starting Thursday, May 14.

The Province says that's the day bars and restaurants around Alberta can open again, with limited seating capacity.

In a Facebook post, the owners of Evelyn's say they won't be opening the dine in services until the high number of COVID-19 cases in High River are "drastically reduced."

They say can't endanger their guests and staff.

They say they'll continue to offer take-out, and could be widening their afternoon hours of operation.

The owners are asking for patience and understanding as things slowly get back to normal.
