Not everyone's excited about the approval of a pair of pipelines that will ship Alberta oil to the west coast and into the U.S.

The Kinder Morgan Trans-Mountain pipeline from Alberta to Burnaby and Enbridge's line 3 pipeline expansion from Alberta to Wisconsin were green-lighted Tuesday, sparking protest, particularly on the west coast.

Alberta Environment Minister Shannon Phillips says people need to realize if it's good for us, it's good for them.

"When Alberta gets back to work and we put the folks to work all across British Columbia and all across the country in fact. From our perspective if there remain community concerns, those need to be taken seriously and engaged with."

Phillips says work on the pipeline's is scheduled to start next September.

However protests and court challenges could cause delays.
