Thirty-one community organizations and municipalities will share in  $1.5 million to help prevent and end elder abuse.

Some of the funding will support a coordinator in Claresholm and area.

Some of the partners include Calgary Rural Primary Care Network, integrated home care, the Porcupine Hills Lodge, Claresholm Home Care Program, the Claresholm Addictions and Mental Health Clinic, and Rowan House.

The Nanton Quality of Life Foundation also received funding to bring in a consultant to help with the development of a coordinated community approach.

It involves RCMP, the Nanton Food Bank, Mosquito Creek Foundation, Town of Nanton, and integrated home care.
