Alberta's Education Minister is touring the province and he'll make a stop in Blackie Wednesday night.

While in the Foothills School Division David Eggen will take part in a school council meeting focusing on the needs of rural students.

School board chair Christine Pretty says they are committed to working with parents and the community to provide programming that meets the needs of parents and the interests of students.

The school council plays an active role in the Preschool to Grade 8 school and its 144 students.

The council meeting will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Blackie school.
