An Edmonton Police officer and four pedestrians are recovering after what police are calling a terrorist attack in Edmonton Saturday, September 30.

Edmonton police are investigating the incident which began following the Edmonton Eskimos Game at Commonwealth Stadium.

Police say the suspect used a Chev Malibu to ram a police cruiser at about 8:15 p.m. after which he got out and fought with the officer stabbing him several times before fleeing the scene on foot.

A few hours later the suspect was stopped by police driving a U-Haul cube van, when the police recognized his name as being the owner of the Chev car he took off at high speeds purposely driving into several pedestrians before the vehicle flipped on its side.

The 30 year old driver is now in custody and the incidents are being investigated as acts of terrorism.
