Expect the economy to be front and centre Thursday night when Canada's main federal party leaders gather in Toronto for the first of four televised debates leading up to the election October 19.

For Prime Minister Stephen Harper, this is his fifth time in front of the cameras at a debate.

The Green Party's Elizabeth May is taking part in her second debate, while the NDP's Tom Mulcair and Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau are rookies.

The two hour debate hosted by Maclean's Magazine gets going at 6 P.M. our time on C-PAC, Omni and City-TV stations across the country.

And if you just can't get enough debates, Fox News in the U.S. is carrying the Republican Presidential Candidates debate as well.

That one should garner some interest as Donald Trump, who's come under serious criticism in recent days for some of his remarks will be leading the charge as the top 10 contenders for the party's nomination take the floor.
