The building boom in High River continues.

Council got an update Monday on all of the post flood work that's going on and Mayor Craig Snodgrass is certainly pleased.

"Everything's going excellent, we're going to be finishing up the last sidewalks here in the next couple of weeks that are between 3 Avenue and MacLeod Trail on 1 Street West, get that done," he says.

He says he got a lot of great comments from people at the car show on the weekend about how great the downtown looks.

"The number of comments that I got from people walking around at that car show as to how beautiful downtown High River is now, well, yes it's great to hear and I love our downtown, congratulations High River, you'll finally got a downtown you can be proud of."

Snodgrass also gave credit to Town administration, Shawne Construction, Bow Mark Paving and Farm Boy Landscaping for getting everything ready for last Sunday' Show and Shine.

The mayor says this is the last year residents will have to put up with this scale of work downtown.
