Handmade High River goes every Sunday from noon until PM downtown and showcases the wares and creations of businesses and home based businesses in town.

Market Organizer Angela Piovesana says it's an opportunity for people to shop downtown on Sundays.

"It's an outdoor market. We have all textiles on 3rd Avenue, all the healing booths on 4th Avenue. On 1st Street we have all the food vendors and then we transition into the Artists. From 5th Avenue towards 6th Avenue we have the Artists setting up there."

She says most businesses in downtown High River are closed on Sundays and some are saying that if the town is to be a go to destination it has to be open for business every day of the week.

She says she's taking action to make that happen.

"My reasoning for creating the market was because we get a lot of requests to open on Sundays but if we don't all do it or if there isn't enough presence downtown there isn't any point in being open because nobody knows and nobody comes. This to support the businesses that want to be open on Sundays."

She says the market is spread throughout the downtown core and that there's something for everyone and adds there's a lot of talent in High River.

She says there's always room for more and adds if you have a business you're welcome to join in.

"They can email me and then I send them some information and a registration form. We're coming up on week five now and we're going until September 18.
