With Seaman Stadium dawning pink and white colours Sunday afternoon, it was another successful fundraiser for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.

The Okotoks Dawgs held their 7th straight pink jersey auction fundraiser, raising over $20,000.

Dawgs Vice President of Promotions and Special Events Will Gardner says the organization can't thank the community enough for their generosity.

"Always Unbelievable," he says. "These fans at Seaman Stadium, when we say they're the greatest fans in baseball we mean it, cause they show it, over $26,500 raised in support of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, unbelievable, it takes us close to the $250,000 mark since we started."

Taking the honour for the highest jersey bid was Dawgs 1st Basemen Kellan Marruffo at $2500.

Gardner says it's an amazing site to see, when the auction heats up.

"Not only the crowd to get into the big bids, but how about this, that is his billet family that purchased that," he says. "They've had such a great summer, they've enjoyed having Kellan, an unique character, and they wanted to keep that jersey here in Okotoks and in their home, just one of a dozen stories you can talk about like that."

Gardner credits the Okotoks Fire Department for once again helping be a part of their fundraiser with their Fill The Boot campaign raising over $5000.

"We raise a dollar, it's great," he says. "You think of how this community steps in, year after year, time after time, through the Dawgs organization supporting over 1100 charities, unbelievable, and we're just so grateful for all of it, not a down day in anyway other than losing to Medicine Hat."
