As if balloons, airplanes, and the Show and Shine aren't enough, this weekend is also Alberta Culture Days.

Joyce Brown with the High River Centennial Library says there's no shortage of cultural events to take in.

"There is 16 venues now around town that will be open throughout the weekend, some are open Fri, Sat., and Sun., some are open just one day, some are two days, but all weekend you can find things happening," she says.

Brown says the variety and the list are extensive.

"Naturally I think that the main highlight is at the Library, we have local high school bands, dance troupes and different things to come perform all day Saturday," she says. "We have different artists, we have an author coming in as well Saturday, we're serving soup in a bun in a Pike's Pottery bowl and then you get to go home with the bowl afterwards when you get your tickets for that."

She says there are also movies at the library Friday and the Balloon Art Market Fri. night at the Field House next to the Balloon Glow event will be taking place.

Evanescence Gallery will be holding its Grand Re-opening this weekend and are showcasing artists and A River Ran Through It cafe is going to doing tasting's although it will take some work to get to it because of the construction downtown.

Brown says Chinook Fabric will be showcasing fabric artists and there'll be graffiti artists showing off their work at the skateboard Park along with lots of the regulars as well as newcomers will be throwing open the doors of their studios to show off not only what they do but how they do it.
