A crash east of High River on Highway 23 Thursday morning has left a 20-year-old man dead.

Emergency crews responded to a crash between a car and a grader at the corner of 176 Street East.

Paramedics say the lone male driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene, while the grader operator was unharmed.

The highway was closed until about 2:30 in the afternoon while RCMP investigated the crash.

The family of the man killed has been notified but they've asked that his name not be released.

The collision is still under investigation.
