There is only a few more weeks left of work to be done on the Sheep River.

MJR Contracting from Okotoks is working on behalf of CP Rail to get the contouring of the gravel bar done.

Spokesperson for CP Rail Salem Woodrow, says this is work CP does all the time.

"CP is working on erosion protection along the sheep river. This project did start after the flood in 2013 and should be completed in six to eight weeks," she says.

The work is to try to make the river safer and keep erosion down.

"The work includes shoring up the banks of the Sheep River with rip-rap and rock," Woodrow says, adding it will prevent rocks from separating from the land as the river flows.
