With a new year comes a new community summit for the Town of High River hosted by Our High River on January 12th and 13th at the Memorial Centre.

Friday is for agencies and businesses while Saturday is for individuals who want to be involved in special events or maybe just to sit back and hear about what's going on.

Jody Seeley with Our High River said the summit was a big hit last year.

"This years theme is called the Tools Of Engagement," said Seeley. "What we are hoping to do is equip citizens with all the tools that they need to take their ideas to the next levels."

They will be learning about the Our High River volunteer matching app and their soon to be launched website.

"We are going to as a community put together an event tool planning kit. So that all of the steps and pieces are in there."

If you want to plan an event or take an idea from your brain to completion in the community.

"We will also be chatting about a new mental health initiative called "How is Your Five" which is all about helping to have deeper, better conversations within the community."

They will also update the Vital Sign survey results.

Registration is free but Seeley says you need to register with Eventbrite to help with the planning.
