The High River Community piano is set up and ready to run for the new season.

It even comes with some new furnishings with a refurbished bus shelter roof protecting it from the rain and two benches on either side for people to relax in when someone plays it.

High River musician Joseph Wickstrom was happy to see it back as he played on Friday, May 19.

"When the piano was down here last summer I was down here every day," said Wickstrom. "I just enjoy playing."

He plans on being around over the long weekend to play more of his music.

The instrument  was spruced up over the winter and was tuned on May 19.

Becky Webster of High River said the piano is a great addition to downtown High River.

'I was very excited to see it back," said Webster. "It brought a great energy to the town last year and I see this year it is covered."

Webster added having it ready for the Little Britches Weekend is a bonus.

Organizers behind the piano project need a little bit of community support as they need to raise two thousand dollars to pay for all the expenses.

The have started a Facebook page called High River Community Piano that had 130 likes as of May 19.

There is also a gofundme page where people can donate.
