Classical Violinist Angela Ryu made banking a little more fun for some surprised customers at the TD bank on Thursday afternoon.

Michelle Wheatley-Brown with The High River Gift of Music Society says the town attracts some of the best musicians in the world.

"Angela Ryu is sixteen years old and one of Canada's very best  Violinists and just happens to live in Calgary. She's down here on Saturday with another musician from the area, Mari Coetzee on Cello."

She says she was popping up at the Hitchin' Post, Evelyn's Cafe and Tim Hortons promoting the Gift of Music concert at the High River United Church on Saturday at 7:30pm.

Bank customer Jean Hedley says it was a welcomed distraction while she was out running errands around town.

"I think it's lovely to have a little bit of art in the middle of a bank like this, and people coming and going. She (Ryu) never has any music to look at, she's doing it all from memory so I'm impressed."

Angela Ryu says playing in the bank and other random locations around town for people was a nice change while promoting The Gift of Music concert.

"Because it's not really like a concert where people are listening intently to me I feel a little more relaxed as people are casually watching me. It's actually a lot of fun."

She says she and has been playing since she was five years old and continues to play with some of the best musicians in the world.
