Voters heading out on Monday, October 16 to vote in the Municipal Elections being held across Alberta need to make sure they have identification with them.

It needs to have the electors name and address on it as proof of identity and residence.

Photo ID issued by a Canadian Government agency like a drivers licence or passport works.

If you don't have those you can use some mail items including utility bills, vehicle registrations or insurance, or a property tax assessment notice.

Also included in the list is a bank or credit card statement or a personal cheque, a property tax assessment or an insurance policy or coverage card.

If you don't have those you can also use a residential lease or mortgage statement, a statement of government benefits, or a letter confirming your address signed by an authorized representative approved by the government.
