The Alberta RCMP's Serious Crimes Branch have laid 14 charges against a 16 year old youth from the Stony Nakoda first nation in relation to the shooting of German tourist in early August.

The youth who can't be named, is facing charges of attempted murder, discharging a firearm with intent, and possession of a prohibited weapon.

Police won't discuss a motive for the shooting, but will only say they don't believe there was any conflict prior to the shot being fired.

The bullet went into the head of the 60 year old tourist, while he was driving with his family near Morley back on Thursday, August 2.

He's since returned to Germany and had the bullet removed from his brain, but police say he has a long road to recovery.
