High River drivers will be very happy Friday, October 5, with news the Centre Street Bridge appears to have re-opened to two way traffic.

It's after being reduced to single lane alternating traffic and various detours for most of the Summer, while the Town worked on building a flood gate for the south end of the bridge.

There's still work to be done on and around the bridge, that will necessitate it's closure a couple of more times before it's totally finished, but for the most part the major work is done and it's back to business as usual going from one end of town to the other.
